50 Community, Labor, Faith Groups Respond to DOJ Pursuit of 15 Minnesotans, Continued Pattern of Attacks to Control Those Who Challenge Fed Corruption

SAINT PAUL, Minn. – June 18, 2026 – On Tuesday, June 16, the Department of Justice indicted 15 Minnesotans in retaliation for their bravery in the face of the armed siege earlier this year. During this time, ICE and CBP agents terrorized and brutalized countless Minnesotans, killing Renee Good and Alex Pretti.

In response, Minnesotans came together for our neighbors and as a community, including holding The Day of Truth and Freedom on January 23rd, 2026, where hundreds of businesses closed, tens of thousands of people marched in subzero temperatures, and even more stayed home from work. Today, 50 groups – and growing – representing Minnesotans across parties and places, races and backgrounds issue the following statement:

“In Minnesota, we’ve shown the country what it means to stand with and for our neighbors. When masked federal agents came into our neighborhoods, abducting and disappearing fellow Minnesotans, and violating our constitutional rights, we took action. We blew whistles. We observed. We donated food.  A hundred thousand of us peacefully marched in minus twenty degrees. No matter what we look like, how we pray, or what language we speak, we looked out for our neighbors and stood up to attacks on our state.

“But now, ahead of our midterm elections, the Trump regime’s weaponized DOJ is lashing out in hopes of intimidating people who challenge their corruption, abuses of power, and attacks on our freedoms. Last week, FBI agents raided offices and homes of Ohioans who ensure voters can cast their votes and have them counted. Now, the very same Department of Justice that refuses to investigate or press charges in the killings of Renee Good and Alex Pretti is going after 15 Minnesotans.

“We've seen this playbook before: when self-serving politicians are losing, they lie, lash out and attempt political repression. They will do whatever it takes to seize and hold power, including trying to silence our voices and keep us from voting. But Minnesotans have already proven we won’t cave to bullies and their billionaire backers, no matter their fearmongering and division. We’ll continue to stand together and stand up for what is right, because that’s what neighbors do for each other.”
