75,000+ MARCHED
Minnesotans came together in moral reflection and action to stand together against the actions of the federal government against the state of Minnesota. The ICE “surge” that cost the life of Renee Nicole Good and Alex Pretti violated the Constitutional and human rights of Americans and our neighbors. Minnesotans collectively decided it was time to suspend the normal order of business to demand immediate cessation of ICE actions in our state, accountability for federal agents who have caused loss of life and abuse to Minnesota residents, and call for Congress to immediately intervene.
This site was created in response to invasion of our state last winter. But we know that we can’t move forward until those responsible for this invasion are held accountable, and we can’t let it happen again. We took the first steps last winter, and this fall we will continue this work making sure we have free and democratic elections.

What we’re facing:
As voting is happening and we head toward the Nov. 3rd election day, we know that the process might not end there for ensuring the will of the people is heard. We've all seen the warning signs that those in power may try to impede, block or overturn the election results if they don't go their way. It's a scary thought, but as Minnesotans showed earlier this year: if we stick together and stand up for what is right, we have real power to make change. Like we did for the January 23rd Day of Truth and Freedom, we want to be ready no matter what happens. See below for a plan developed by numerous groups from across the country that we are using to consider how we would respond to various escalations against our free and democratic elections. More to come!
WHY TRUTH & FREEDOM
A free and democratic people depend upon our leaders being rooted in the truth. Repression depends on lies. Freedom depends on a shared Truth.
WHAT HAPPENED ON JANUARY 23rd?
Hundreds of thousands of Minnesotans took action in a unified, statewide pause in daily economic activity. Over 1,000 businesses closed, tens of thousands of Minnesotans took to the streets and the airport, all in unified, non-violent action.
Business for Democracy Pledge
During Operation Metro Surge, while Minnesotans and Small Business Owners stepped up, yet big corporations with the most power and wealth stayed quiet for too long as our state faced attacks.
Now, ahead of the 2026 elections, Minnesotans are calling on business leaders to sign the “Business for Democracy” pledge to commit to standing up for free and democratic elections while committing to using all of the power and influence they hold to make sure our state & country are places where all people have an equal & free say in building our future.
Businesses Stepping Up for Democracy
We all have a role to play in protecting our votes and the freedom to choose our elected leaders. That means businesses, big and small, need to use their power and voices too. Minnesotans are calling on businesses in our state to do their part in protecting our democracy and elections.
Below is a list who’s signed the pledge already. See a favorite spot or a big business that’s missing? Reach out to them, share the pledge, and tell them it’s time we all step up for our democracy.

WHAT MINNESOTANS ARE DEMANDING.
ICE must leave Minnesota now.
Any officer who kills a civilian must be held legally accountable. That starts with legitimate investigations and charges by local officials.
Shut down Trump’s ICE. No additional federal funding for ICE in the upcoming Congressional budget and ICE should be investigated for human and Constitutional violations of Americans and our neighbors.
We call upon all corporations to become 4th Amendment businesses, cease economic relations with ICE and refuse ICE entry or using their property for staging grounds, and lobby congress to freeze funding for ICE/DHS.
